Sanatorium Delerium
2011
A long and exhausting day but it was totally worth it!
It took us around 30 minutes to finally arrive at this sanatorium (the other name 'Sanatorium dans la foret' probably explains why ;)). We heard a lot of stories about the security there but we didn't see anyone :). A big part of the sanatorium was trashed, but the little building we went in was still in good shape. No trash, no graffiti, just a little morgue that looked like someone could come back any minute. We stayed there for over an hour, took a few pictures of the sanatorium itself and left.
History:
This sanatorium used to be a cancer hospital. It opened it's doors for the first time around 1900. Before WW1 only male patients were welcome in the sanatorium. After WW1 only woman were allowed. The sanatorium made a switch from cancer hospital to a gerontology clinic after WW2. It was closed around 2000.
