Kent School Chapel
2011
One of the most exciting explorings that we have done so far especially because we got caught. We arrived at the Kent school and everything looked like trash. We knew that there was a nice chapel so we went looking for it. We could enter the chapel through a small hole, it wasn't easy but we did it. We were inside for some minutes and noticed a bike which was in pretty good shape. When I looked out of a window I saw some guys, some of them looked like urbexers but some of them looked like some kind of SWAT-team. We decided to leave and ran into a police cop downstairs. He told us that people lived in the chapel and that we triggered an alarm. We denied everything and after showing our passports we were free to go. They told us we would get a fine which would be send to our homes but we never got one :)
History:
The Kent school was build in the early 1900's. It served as a monastery which took care of physically disabled people.
In 1939 a new law stated that every disabled new born should be reported with the government. They were put into institutes of which one was in the Kent school. A lot of people got killed because of the race purification system. More than 30 children in the Kent school were also killed. The institute left the Kent school after a while and all he children were transported.
The English bought the buildings after WWII and owned hem for over 40 years. They turned the monastery into a military hospital. They decided to use the site as a school in the 1960's. It stayed that way until 1992, when it got abandoned.
