This was one of our first industrial places, I wasn't really into industrial back then so it wasn't really impressive. By then it was still a walk in location, we revisited this place and it was a lot harder to enter, and one of the buildings wasn't accessible anymore.
by looking back I think that the location was actually pretty nice, too bad that we didn't take that much pictures..
History
This used to be a coal mine, it closed about 20 years ago (+- 1990).
It was build in the early 1900's and provided 44000 people with work. During WW2 the mines were obligated to build barracks for the Russian prisoners, who were forced to work under German command.
The mine merged with another one in 1964, and HZ was created.
After the mine closed its buildings were (and still are) used for working space for sustainable energy.
